In this shiur on Sichos HaRan #7, we delve into an extremely deep and relevant concept - the disregarding of Hashem's expressed Will for us to remain at a distance by intuiting His deeper Will which is for us to draw close nonetheless. We learn a remarkable teaching from Reb Tzadok HaKohen regarding the Maapilim and the inner meaning of Chazal's teaching that before Moshiach arrives, there will be much chutzpah. Finally, Reb Nosson teaches us how all of this is embedded into the essence of the Purim story in the sweetest, most incredible way!

In this shiur on Sichos HaRan #5 (continuation) we continue our exploration of the three levels of Yisras Shomayim, exploring the Baal HaTanya's exceedingly deep definition of "Yiras HaRomemus" as well as identifying fine distinctions between the definitions of the three levels found in the teachings of the Ramchal, Kedushas Levi, Baal HaTanya, and Bas Ayin. Finally, we discuss why, unlike many of the other tzaddikim, Rebbe Nachman spoke highly about Yiras Ha'Oneish and learn a remarkable teaching from Likutei Halachos where Reb Nosson stresses the importance of engaging with this kind of Yirah in a healthy, positive manner and warns against any "avodas Hashem" that will in fact bring us further away from our Father in heaven.

In addition, we begin our study of Sichos HaRan 5, laying the foundation of understanding Rebbe Nachman's aversion to works of philosophical speculation, rooted in his rejection of an impersonal "Unmoved Mover" and embrace of the more Kabbalistically-oriented reciprocal relationship with our Father in heaven Who is at stake in our every movement.
